fruit of citron, also known as lotus plumule, is the embryonic seed of the lotus plant (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.),

a common aquatic plant in China, India, and other parts of Southeast Asia. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), lotus seedheart is valued for its medicinal properties and is used to treat a variety of health conditions.











The lotus seedheart is recognized for its sweet and slightly bitter taste, and it is associated with the heart, liver, and kidney meridians in TCM theory.
