Radix Polygalae, also known as polygala tenuifolia、milkwortpolygala root、milkwort root etc. 

Produced in Northeast, North, Northwest, Central China, and Sichuan; 

Perennial herb with thick and robust main roots and fleshy phloem. 

It has the functions of calming the mind, dispelling phlegm, and reducing swelling.

 It is used for insomnia, dreaminess, forgetfulness, palpitations, mental confusion, unpleasant sputum production, swollen and toxic sores, and breast swelling caused by heart kidney failure.
