White Peony (Paeonia lactiflora)

also known as Bai Shao in Chinese, is a herbaceous perennial plant that belongs to the family Ranunculaceae.

It is native to Asia and has been cultivated for thousands of years for its medicinal purposes.

The plant grows up to 1-1.5 meters tall with large, dark green leaves and delicate, white or pink flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer.

The roots of the White Peony are the most commonly used part of the plant in traditional Chinese medicine.

In traditional Chinese medicine, White Peony is believed to have a wide range of therapeutic properties.

It is often used to treat various conditions such as muscle spasms, abdominal pain, menstrual cramps, and gynecological disorders.

It is also believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immune-boosting effects.

White Peony is typically prepared as a decoction by boiling the dried root in water for several hours.

It can also be taken in capsule or tablet form.

However, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before taking any herbal supplements, including White Peony,

as they may interact with medications or cause side effects.
